Our Beliefs
Little Prairie exists to be a place where people Love God, Love People and Serve Both. Below are our beliefs that help us to fulfill our mission to the best of our abilities.
Jesus
Jesus Christ is the builder and the "Head" of His church. As the Body of Christ (the Church), we submit to His ongoing leadership.
(Colossians 1:15-20)
(Colossians 1:15-20)
The Trinity
We believe in God the Father, Jesus the only Son of God, and the Holy Spirit.
(John 3:16; John 14:26)
(John 3:16; John 14:26)
Biblical Teaching
We hold that the Bible was originally written without error and contains God's complete message. It remains relevant and the final authority for all
matters of faith and practice in this church and in our personal lives; therefore, we teach it without hesitation.
(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:24-25)

(2 Timothy 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:24-25)
Evangelism
We love people and utilize every viable, God-ordained means to share the good news: that Jesus Christ died for our sins with
those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior through the salvation process.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:23)
those who have not accepted Jesus Christ as his or her Lord and Savior through the salvation process.
(Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6:23)
Grace
Grace is God's gift toward us, and because we have received God's grace,
we will extend grace at all times to others.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
we will extend grace at all times to others.
(Ephesians 2:8-9)
Salvation
We believe that we accept God's gift of grace when we believe that Jesus is the Only Son of God who came to take away our sins (John 3:16-17); repent of our sins (Acts 2:38); confess to others that Jesus is our Lord and Savior (Romans 10:9); are immersed in water (Romans 6:3-7; 1 Peter 3:21); and continue to live in obedience to the Word of God
(John 8:31; John 14:23).
(John 8:31; John 14:23).
Prayer
We rely on prayer as the foundation for all aspects of ministry. Prayer is
communication with our Heavenly Father that is available to everyone.
(Luke 11:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
communication with our Heavenly Father that is available to everyone.
(Luke 11:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Authentic Worship
Worship that is done in Spirit and truth is a primary means for
developing and maintaining a relationship with God.
(John 4:23-24)
developing and maintaining a relationship with God.
(John 4:23-24)
The Church
We value the church, which was established by Jesus Christ to fulfill His mission in Matthew 28. We strive to follow the patterns of the Christians in the book of Acts, and not be a denomination. Our leadership comes from within each local body as elders and ministry team leaders. We believe that the church is the body of Jesus Christ, and should model Him in word and deed.
(1 Timothy 3; Titus 1; Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 1:8)
(1 Timothy 3; Titus 1; Matthew 16:13-18; Acts 1:8)
Communion
We believe in a weekly observance of the Lord's Supper. Not only do we believe it is biblical, but it gives us yet another opportunity to share the good news of Jesus' death and resurrection.
(Acts 20:7)
(Acts 20:7)
Baptism
Our practice of baptism is based on the Greek word "baptizo" which means to immerse. Paul also refers to baptism as a "burial" of our old selves and raised into our new selves. Through the act of immersion, we identify with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus. (Romans 6:3-4)
